Introduction



The school is situated in Dodamwala Village, Kandy District in Sri Lanka.
The school was established in March 8th 1962, by M/s Rienzie Alagiyawanna, a blind teacher with the help of K.B Dodamwela.
This school and Hostel was started as a Government approved Charity on the 13th day of March 1965. This organization is manage by Senkadagala Deaf and Blind school society ltd; Committee of management’s Hony. President is District Secretary/Gove. Agent Kandy and the Hony. Treasurer is Divisional Secretary Gangawata Korale and the rest of the committee members are very senior officers of Government service who retired and joined this committee as volunteers who render their services without any remuneration. They manage the finances and spend for hostel and school for board and lodging free of charge. The committee meet once a month and look into the Education, food loach and welfare of the students. Committee members are selected annually at the Annual General meeting.


          Children are admitted to the School and Hostel by a board comprising Hony. General Manager, Principal, and the matron. Once a child is admitted his or her all requirements are met by the board including Medical care.
